ZestDrop is a free, open-source file converter for Windows. In short: your files never leave your PC, and the app collects no personal data.
The ZestDrop app
- Your files stay on your computer. All conversions run locally with engines bundled in the app (FFmpeg, 7-Zip, Python). Nothing is uploaded, and the app works offline.
- No network connections. The app does not contact any server: no accounts, ads, analytics, telemetry or crash reporting.
- Keyboard. To open its menu, ZestDrop checks whether Shift, Ctrl, F8, F9 or Esc are held while you drag a file. It does not record what you type.
- Local log. A small log in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ZestDrop\logsrecords events such as "job finished" and error messages, to help with troubleshooting. It never leaves your PC, is capped in size, and you can delete it at any time. - Settings. Your language choice is saved in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ZestDrop\settings.json. - Microsoft Office. Some Office conversions use the copy of Word, Excel or PowerPoint installed on your PC. ZestDrop does not change Office's own privacy settings.
This website
zestdrop.org may count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal data. To show the latest version, the download button asks GitHub's public API for release information; GitHub's privacy policy applies to that request. Downloads are served by GitHub.
Children
ZestDrop collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
